Duncan Hamilton first tried his hand at ice sculpting over 40 years ago as a young man working as a Chef in a top london restaurant. He went on to establish Hamilton Ice Sculptors, the UK’s first ever professional ice sculpting company which he runs with his son Jamie and a small team of expert sculptors.
Over the years he has developed a unique and contemporary artistic style which is recognised all over the world; but even after a career spent sculpting pieces for everyone from Beyoncé to the Queen to Steven Spielberg, it is to that quiet conversation with ice that Duncan always returns. That fascination with the unpredictable, fleeting, mesmerising world inside the frozen form is what he seeks to explore in Shock of the Form.
